We love the nets. They are out 24/7 and have held up very well – the webbing looks exactly like it did when we took it out of the box even though it gets stepped on and tossed around the paddocks. In fact, we bought two more! The only downside is that the clips can break. It’s not terrible but you do need extra double ended clips on hand.

How are the nets holding up?

I live in the UK. I bought the Dr. Cook’s bitless bridle last year and used it a lot but have always had serious doubts about the release of the (too thick) crossunder straps through the (too small) metal rings. The braking was non-existent. Recently I searched the internet for a ‘rolled rein’ that would connect to the cheek strap, thus getting rid of what I perceived to be the flawed elements of the Dr Cook’s bridle. Lo and behold, I read for the first time all about the spirit bridle and its ‘rolled reins’ etc – what I needed so badly had already been created by Mr. Buck all those years ago.

I am delighted to say I ordered these reins and will be trying them on my horse in the next week…I can’t wait as I am certain I will now have much more control…watch this space…

I vouch that this is pad is falsely advertised as “one-size fits all.” The seat measures about 15 1/2 inches from the middle of the pommel to the middle of the cantle. For me, my butt can fit in the seat, but not my long legs. My knees go over the knee blocks, making this pad not only uncomfortable, but dangerous because I can’t sit properly in it. As for the horse, this pad can only fit flat-back mutton withered horses. Don’t EVEN attempt to put this on a high-withered horse.

It’s also advertised for being very comforable for both horse and rider. I found it to be quite the opposite. The seat is stiff for the rider and underneath is not cushiony for the horse at all. Therefore, you must use a soft thick pad with the Baretek pad.

Lastly, for the price you think the darn thing would come with a girth, but no! You have to go and spend another $40-70 on a dressage girth to go with it.

This pad is overrated, overprice, and I feel like a fool for being suckered into it.

I have many remedies in my new book about the sole and abscess in the hoof, what causes them etc, this is a great product, wouldn’t it be nice to know why they occur?

These are great – I just got a set of 2 and they are real strong, easy to slip on, held up wonderfully and made the treatment of my hoof abscess so much easier

No – it will not REPLACE proper fencing, but so many times I have come across a broken board that I tried to replace / fix on my own, and if I had a Paddock Patch on hand, I could have used it and then waited til help got home to assist me. Or – many times the battery was dead in the drill (to pre drill the holes in the oak boards) so it would have been great to put the Paddock Patch up, charge the battery, and fix the fence a few hours later without having to bring horses in so they didnt escape
Fabulous product – the response thus farm in Canada has been great on it!
